Most injectors don't die,
they just get dirty!

Why do most injectors fail? Actually, most injectors don't fail, they just become obstructed. During operation, the injector pintle only moves 0.1mm and the fuel exits through a hole no larger than the period at the end of this sentence. These small passages become impacted by microscopic deposits. One such offender is Olefin - found in all gasoline. Its hard deposits form on all injectors and are caused by today's higher engine compartment temperatures.

Because it is not likely that engine temperatures are going to decrease, injectors will continue to become obstructed. Through the use of testing and ultrasonic cleaning, ninety percent of electronic injectors can be restored to a like-new condition.

Why is cleaning a better option than replacement?

COST . . .
Testing and ultrasonic cleaning of each injector will eliminate the need to buy new injectors which cost $75 to $160 each!

EFFECTIVENESS . . .
Ninety percent of faulty injectors can be restored to like-new condition through the testing and ultrasonic cleaning process.

Why ultrasonic cleaning? Isn't chemical cleaning just as effective?

Some service facilities do offer chemical and/or "on-car" cleaning methods. Using harsh chemicals to dissolve deposits can damage some injectors immediately and may cause long term damage to oxygen sensors and catalysts. Both GM and Nissan have issued technical bulletins warning technicians against this potentially expensive mistake. Ultrasonic cleaning, according to the Society of Automotive Engineers, is the most effective and safe cleaning method.

Why bother with flow testing first; can't they just be cleaned?

Measuring the delivery volume of each injector before it is cleaned and again after cleaning insures uniform distribution of fuel to each cylinder. An average restriction for any given injector, before cleaning, is 8%. This restriction results in a lean mixture at the oxygen sensor. The overall result is a richer mixture for the entire engine, as well as an emissions increase in hydrocarbons by 26%, and carbon monoxide by 16%! This hinders the car's performance, increases emissions, and may lead to more expensive repairs.

Testing also pinpoints those injectors which have either failed electrically or have pintle or seat damage and truly need to be replaced.

Our ten point injector service includes:
Electric Testing
Leak Testing
Spray Pattern Analysis
Flow Rate and Volume Testing
Ultrasonic Cleaning
Installation of New Filter Baskets and Pintle Caps
New Seals and O-Rings
Test sheets on each injector showing before and after measurements
Quick turn-around
Injectors restored to like new condition!

The best times to clean injectors:

Ø when they are diagnosed with a problem.

Ø whenever they are already removed for an engine repair.

Ø during the routine replacement of injector seals as part of the 60,000 or 90,000 major service, as recommended by Bosch.
